When our clients approached us for a low-maintenance garden with a Mediterranean flair, we embraced the challenge to create a stunning and functional outdoor space.
During our consultation we agreed that the design needed to achieve the following:
Reflect the aesthetic and ambiance of Mediterranean landscapes.
Provide distinct areas for relaxation, entertainment, and casual gatherings.
Require minimal time and effort to maintain.
To meet these requirements, we developed a comprehensive plan that integrated several key elements:
A custom-built pergola served as the garden’s focal point. The structure was designed to support climbing plants, adding greenery and shade.
Underneath the pergola, we placed a sofa and chairs, creating a perfect spot for eating outdoors and gatherings. This area became a centrepiece for social activities.
In a secluded corner of the garden, we placed a custom-designed bench around a fire pit providing a cosy nook for relaxation and intimate moments – enhancing the garden’s inviting atmosphere.
To replace the high-maintenance lawn, we selected sandy-coloured gravel, which evoked the look of Mediterranean beaches and established a cohesive link for the garden’s design elements.
We incorporated shaped paving stones to create pathways that guided visitors through the garden, linking the pergola, fire pit, and other zones.
This project highlights the potential of blending style with practicality, resulting in a garden that is both aesthetically pleasing and effortlessly manageable.
